Indian social media app Slick has released the personal data of children on the web along with other platform users. According to TechCrunch, an internal Slick database containing users’ full names, mobile numbers, birth dates, and profile pictures was exposed online without passwords.

The internal database has entries for over 153,000 Slick users. Launched in November last year by former Unacademy executive Archit Nanda, Slick is available on both the Android and iOS app stores. Nanda was also the co-founder and CEO of the crypto platform Coinmint. Earlier this month, he announced on Twitter that Slick had crossed 100,000 downloads.

Are These Data Still Available Online?

As reported by TechCrunch, Anurag Sen, a cyber-security researcher at Cloud Defense AI, found the exposed slick database. Sen also alerted the Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In). Slick later fixed the problems, and the database is no longer available online.
